Havant Symphony Orchestra: Spring Concert

  • Oaklands School Stakes Hill Road Waterlooville, England, PO7 United Kingdom (map)

Something old, something new…?

Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto may not be familiar, but we’re sure you’ll love its rhythms and sparkling virtuosity, both of which are perfect for our soloist Dan-Iulian Druţac.

Mussorgsky’s ‘Night on the Bare Mountain’ is music you may well have heard on the radio – based around the ancient Russian legend of a witches’ sabbath on St John’s Eve.

Dvorak’s ‘New World’ Symphony may be new by name but will be familiar to all – especially the solo for cor anglais in the slow movement.
